Lost her twice — flexit amans oculos (the lover turned his eyes)
A soft, lightweight cotton tee with a smooth hand-feel — the kind that feels broken-in from day one. Breathable through the day, clean through the wash, and cut for an easy everyday fit through the shoulders and chest.
Design reads: “Lost her twice — flexit amans oculos (the lover turned his eyes)”
The saddest moment of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth. Orpheus walked out of the underworld leading his wife Eurydice back to life, on one condition: he must not look back. Just short of daylight, he turned to check she was there — and lost her a second time. The small Latin line, “flexit amans oculos”, is the classical telling of that moment: “the lover turned his eyes.”
